A cardinal rule of business is don't go into business with a friend/spouse.  Joe and Jennene disregarded that rule and after 8 years of working for the "big box tax place" (and a few years of persuing other ventures) decided to pool their assets and establish "J and J Taxes and More."

In deciding where to open their office, they wanted to stay local and service the community that they loved.  Joe had worked, lived and grown up in Garden City (graduating from Garden City East High School).  Jennene  had worked in Garden City and was living a few block's over (in Westland).

They started slow, renting a small 10 x 11 office above Orin Jewlers.  Most of their equipment and furnishings were used, but it allowed them to keep their fee's reasonable. 

As business grew they were able to expand to a larger ground floor office, just around the corner.

In 2010, Jennene's disability and commitment to "being a mom" forced her to step away from the day to day operations of the office.  Leaving her to support Joe from behind the scenes.

In 2014 Joe and Jennene decided to take another step in their partnership and become husband and wife.
